It’s with great pride that I announce our official selection for the Heart of Gold International Film Festival in Queensland Australia this October.
When the festival sent out the call for submissions they said this:
“We are seeking films that are: positive, hilarious, witty, whimsical, nourishing, well-crafted, inspiring, thought-provoking, entertaining, joyous, uplifting, quirky, enlightening, ground breaking or edgy.”
And it’s just lovely to have met those criteria, especially as every single one of them is reflected in the film, and because this was truly everything I was aiming for when I writing the script and making the film.
This film is a tiny but meaningful protest against the intolerance and unkindness that has been unveiled across British society since Brexit became a thing, so it is heartwarming indeed to think of its journey continuing and carrying with it its hopeful and uplifting message and spirit, even to the other side of the world.
